About the Opportunity

Based at the regional office in Nairobi, the Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for tracking market developments, create strategies, set up sales plans, and maintain customer relations Also, s/he will responsible for the development of product programs facilitating active relationships with clients, agents & suppliers with the sole aim of maximizing sales and sustainable revenue generation.

Position works with various administration, accounts, reservations, operations, and sales on activations, trade shows, budgets, as well as projects and other tourism activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • To effectively propose and convert SOA services to identified potential clients as per the sales strategy
  • To achieve set regional sales targets and effectively increase revenue for each SOA business unit
  • Establishing new business and maintaining existing business accounts with industry influencers and key strategic partners through preparation and execution of action plans
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic marketing and sales plans and forecasting to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
  • Prepare marketing presentations and ensure compliance with our brand.
  • Attend and/or represent SOA in both international and local marketing exhibitions, shows and training events.
  • Developing and managing sales/marketing operating budgets.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Public Relations
  • At least 5 years working experience in Tourism Industry in East Africa
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with excellent communication skills
  • Strong decision making and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to work within a flexible schedule
  • ICT Proficient. Tourplan is an added advantage
  • Knowledge in French &/or Spanish will be an added advantage
  • Excellent working knowledge of the tourism industry and geographical region
  • Proven track record of successful sales and account management
  • Excellent budgeting, and time management skills
  • Conversant with social media platforms and uses
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Any additional  foreign language will be an added advantage
