THE JOB

  • As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various instrumentation systems and equipment used in cement manufacturing processes. The job requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of various instrumentation and control systems, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level sensors, and analytical instruments.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with control loops, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, motor controls, and other electrical and electronic devices.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential faults or malfunctions and take appropriate measures to rectify them.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance activities for instrumentation systems to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including schedules, work orders, and equipment manuals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations during maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in instrumentation and control systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications.

  • Minimum of 11 years of proven working experience as an Instrumentation Technician in a cement manufacturing or similar heavy industrial environment is mandatory.
  • A diploma in instrumentation, electronics and electrical engineering, technical certifications or vocational training in instrumentation or electrical engineering is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of various instrumentation devices, control systems, and PLC/DCS programming.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for troubleshooting and calibration procedures.
  • Experience in interpreting electrical and instrumentation diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
