About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking for a highly capable Auto Electrician Mechanic to join our team. Based in Nairobi, the successful candidate should be a highly skilled and reliable auto electrician who will assist our Driver Guides and customers to maintain, repair, replace and upgrade the electrical components in the cars received into the Workshop. S/he must have a good work ethic, be able to work independently and be able to troubleshoot problems with precision. Also, the successful candidate must be capable of diagnosing and resolving electrical car problems by utilizing best practices, and possess excellent customer service skills because s/he will be working directly with suppliers, clients and colleagues.

 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair electrical wiring in vehicles
  • Diagnose problems with vehicle electrical systems,
  • Repair damaged electrical parts,
  • Maintain electrical equipment for our safari vehicles and any other vehicles as assigned.
  • Any other duties as maybe assigned from time to time by the management.

 Minimum requirements

  • Must have a Certificate in Automotive Engineering/ auto electrical qualification certificate or related course from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years of experience in a similar position in a reputable organization.
  • Proven work experience as an auto electrician.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems.
  • Complex problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods.
  • Ability to distinguish subtle color variations i.e. perfect eyesight.
  • Experience working in a high-capacity fleet department is desired.
  • Ability to meet and interact with the public and employees with tact, courtesy, and discretion.
  • Willingness to work when required including; in emergencies, during odd hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • A good eye for detail.
